Kokinda Cleared of Prostitution Promotion at Elyria Bar
Visiting judge acquitted former Lorain councilman James J. Kokinda of promoting prostitution and obscenity at his South Lorain bar. He waived a jury trial, stating the case reflected local concerns better handled by City Council, with the court noting no public nudity ordinance in Lorain. The judge emphasized Kokinda did not profit from dancers and did not view the women as prostitutes.
