Sam Wisniewski a 15 year old Keystone High School ninth grader died Wednesday afternoon after a 19 year old schoolmate allegedly struck him and another rider while biking home along Indian Hollow Road. Police say they are investigating with family seeking answers while the community mourns. Sam’s mother learned of the tragedy when a friend arrived with the news prompting a move to the family home at 17535 Indian Hollow Road.
In New York the market steadies after a week of sharp selling. The Dow Jones average rose 3.50 points to 848.12 by 10:40 a.m. as investors cooled and trading lagged the earlier record levels.
Top business executives back the Federal Reserve Board action to tighten credit. The market showed a seesaw pattern with small gains and declines and a overall mixed tone amid a lighter trading pace. Investors awaited potential rate moves as the Fed focuses on money supply growth. Henry Wallich urged caution on a credit crunch while President Carter supported the policy but said rates were too high.
Leis Faulkner, 68, released 17 days early from Ventura County jail after good conduct. She plans a college lecture trek and a line of marijuana paraphernalia while insisting she condemns weed for herself and says kids need marijuana to relax amid her remarks on “nice pollution.”

In a separate case, Lorain High teacher Carl Hartman pleaded innocent to an assault charge in Lorain Municipal Court.
