Blyria’s annual downtown fishers return Saturday at 9 A M with scores of lines cast into Ely Park pool in a bid to reel in about 200 fish including a 35 pound carp. Rules limit to single hooks, no snagging, and each angler owns their catch. Fishing lasts several days with no Sunday session as park officials plan fresh stock for next summer.
Three bombs exploded in Sullivan Indiana marking a fresh outbreak in the coal miners dispute. One blast woke patients at Mary Sherman Hospital and damaged near a hotel area but caused no injuries. Brigadier General D Wray De Prez ordered National Guard troops to mobilize as officials fear renewed unrest after union miners called off a general strike.
President Ernest T. Weir of the Weirton Steel Company in West Virginia declines to submit the strikers demands to arbitration by the National Labor Board. The NRA agency had proposed ending the strike and submitting all disputes to the board, a proposal accepted by striker representatives.

Foreclosure action filed in federal court today by Chase National Bank of New York holder of a first mortgage for 1 569 000. Bank seeks retention of receiver F W Coen. Suit covers mortgaged property revenue to bank with general creditors paid from unmortgaged assets and receivables.
Two convicts, suspected in the Warren bank messenger holdup that netted 68 000 in currency, were held in Cleveland. Edward Degan and Richard Sisby, both in their 30s, were arrested as they entered a car outside an apartment. Officers also seized a sawed off shotgun two revolvers and field tools. no money found. Victims Frank Wolfe and Charles Fisher were en route to identify the suspects.
A late Wednesday fire at the Black Clawson Manufacturing Company warehouse in Hamilton Ohio caused about 175000 dollars in damage. Hundreds of patterns and wooden flasks, many valuable, were lost. Firemen cite furnace sparks as the cause with two drums of crude oil exploding and collapsing walls sending smoke and flames skyward. Sparks reached nearby homes causing minor damage to three sites. Five firefighters escaped when a wall fell.

Dr Charlee E Barker former Taft aide told Elyria high school students that success rests on a strong arm a clear head and a brave heart. He urged effort corrected bad habits and cited Col Charlies A Lindch as an example of brave heart earned respect. Barker noted his 20 years of address work and return from retirement to reach students.
Identification of the man who held up Citizens Budget Company on Second Street on the morning of September 6 was made at Lorain police headquarters by Lee DeLloyd, treasurer, and Miss Nellie Washke, an employee. James E. Dolan, 35, was identified from eight suspects and is charged with carrying a revolver in Lorain and with forcing DeLloyd. Dolan was arraigned in Municipal Court and held on $25,000 bond pending grand jury action. Police traced him after a witness saw a man with altered Ohio plates and a red toupee, near the Budget company, and found items matching the binding method used on the victims.
The Ohio Supreme Court refused to review the Lorain County auto accident case involving Dorothy Gentle. A jury awarded Gentle $12,000 against George A. Wagner. The appellate chain upheld the verdict, and all requests for further review were denied.
Henry Bruere, president of Bowers Savings Bank of New York and Roosevelt adviser, works on a plan to release half of the 2.5 billion dollars of frozen credits in closed banks nationwide. Details not public. financing reportedly via the Reconstruction Finance Corporation.
The Second Ward Democrat Club at Perry Koplin's drug store urged unity for the upcoming campaign. Mayor W H Van Oster urged pulling together to push the full ticket. An open meeting for shop employees of Elyria will be held at Painters Hall Broad Street tonight under the L A of M Elyria. Two speakers will attend. Eric Peterson of Washington DC will explain how workers may receive full benefits from the National Recovery Act and is affiliated with the American Federation of Labor. Another speaker will discuss the proposed Old Age Pension law on which Ohio voters will vote at the upcoming election.
