Elyria officer suspended after arrest in Geauga County
Patrolman Scott Willis, 52, pleaded not guilty to a misdemeanor assault charge in Chardon Municipal Court after allegedly pushing and hitting his wife Wendy Willis during a dispute at their Chester Township home in Geauga County. Rushed to leave, Willis was taken into custody. he faces up to six months in jail if convicted.

The Gathering Place, after nine years on Cleveland's east side, opens a Westlake branch on Sharon Drive. Avon Lake man killed in scooter collision near Avon Middle School
Avon Lake resident Hieronymus Robert Bueck, 41, was killed Friday afternoon when his Buddy 125 scooter was struck by a Hyundai Sonata at Kinzel Road and Stoney Ridge Road near Avon Middle School. He died at Avon Emergency Care Center from chest and upper abdomen injuries. The driver, Kimberly Lan, 47, of North Ridgeville, was not injured. no charges filed as police investigate.
