Egypt lets killers slip away after hijack at sea
Port Said Egypt an Italian liner docked with more than 500 hostages freed by four Palestinian hijackers after two days of terror. Mubarak said the hijackers were allowed to leave on a report the hostages were unharmed. He noted negotiations and questioned where the four hijackers went, possibly Tunisia. The PLO pressed Egypt to surrender them for judgment. US Ambassador Veliotes said Egypt should prosecute.

Birthday tragedy near Route 303 claims Sandy Ledford
Sandy Ledford 23 from North Carolina died after her car left Route 303 near Erhart Road in North Ridgeville while en route to meet her boyfriend for his birthday. She worked as a Panorama Restaurant waitress in Westlake and had moved with roommate Dena Seupholm to 5880 Wallace Blvd. Friends remember her as a kind, musical horse lover who hoped to marry someday. Her body was found at 7:26 a.m. Wednesday after leaving Heck's Restaurant in Lakewood past midnight.
