Keystone senior achieves perfect ACT 36 milestone
Keystone High School senior Steven Speck earned a perfect ACT score of 36 joining a national elite. He is a 2016 National Merit Scholar semifinalist with distinction AP scholar and maintains dual enrollment at Lorain County Community College through College Credit Plus. Speck leads Keystone activities as NHS member captain of Academic Challenge and Student Council while excelling in track and field and 4-H volunteer work.

Giant Puffball Mushroom Found In Ohio Yard
LaGrange Township resident Owen Maiden and his grandfather discovered a 16 inch giant puffball Calvatia gigantea in a yard in September. Extension expert Curtis Young notes the fungus grows underground, feeds on decaying organic matter, and can reach sizes from a baseball to larger than a basketball.

Columbia Branch Library hosts fall events and book sale
