Freed POW Sexton Requests Christmas Dinner on Return

Army staff sergeant John C Sexton Jr aged 23 from Warren Michigan walked from jungle captivity to Loc Ninh near Saigon. He asked for a Christmas dinner with the works and briefly spoke with his father noting he sounded good. He is 135 pounds, with malaria anemia eye injury and wounds from shrapnel. He was the 22nd U S prisoner released by the Viet Cong.

Surrender ends Argentina revolt ends bloodless coup

Eastern Flight 936 Hijacked En Route to Cuba

An Eastern Airlines Detroit to Miami jet was hijacked as it departed Detroit Metropolitan Airport. The aircraft reported an emergency to Cleveland ATC from Oberlin, with a man in the cockpit and no details on a federal marshal or passenger count. Soldier Awarded Bronze Star for Heroism in Vietnam

U S Army Sgt Darryl A Zimberlin 20 son of Roy and Mrs Zimberlin Gore Orphanage Road lost his left leg and earned the Bronze Star with V device for saving his squad during a June 29 year mission in Thua Thien province Vietnam He served with the 101st Airborne Division from October 1970 until June and is recovering at Valley Forge General Hospital near Philadelphia.
