Shenandoah Clears Rocky Mountains On Transcontinental Flight

Fort Worth Texas October 9 The dirigible Shenandoah described as the pride of the navy pointed westward at 947 this morning and began the long cross country flight to clear the Rocky mountains in what officers call the toughest part of the 5000 mile voyage.

Northeastern Ohio Teachers Meet Forces School Closures

The Higha public schools will close Friday October 24 and Saturday October 25 to allow 46 teachers to attend the fall meeting of the Northeastern Onis Teachers Association in Cleveland. Schools statewide may close for the event with several thousand teachers expected at the meetings.

Stapleton Sues Partner Over Price Home Repair Costs

H. J. Stapleton sues Walter Burnison in Common Pleas Court to force half of $525 unpaid bills and $97 borrowed from partnership funds for the Mathew Price home repair at 708 Middle Avenue. He says the contract was to complete the $2,900 job but costs exceeded that amount.

Y M C A Campaign Race Ends In Dead Heat Among Divisions

The second report dinner at the Y M C A shows the Bair Kat and Thom Kat divisions each recording 41 members, totaling 243 with two days of drives left. Judge Funk of Wooster spoke on the Y M C A history as Oscar Dunn’s team led the boys, while David Hyman and A C Hudcut tied for individual honors and Ronald Dunn led in memberships.

George Rawson Dies Sud­denly at 69 in LaGrange

George Albert Rawson of 741 West River Street died suddenly yesterday at 3 30 pm while working on a driveway. He was 69 years old and a lifelong resident of LaGrange and Elyria. Elyria Girl Not Blamed in Death

Elyria reports from Council Bluffs Iowa clear Miss Nettie Mann of all blame in a fatal Tuesday night crash. Police say the Winton driver was a witness not a contributor. The Ford coupe skidded on a wet hill and struck a telephone pole. Mann was freed pending investigation after posting a nominal bond.

In the first inning Lindstrom was pud out at first as Bluege nabbed him. Frisch doubled down the right field line and Young scored on Kelly’s single. Meusel’s line drive was caught by Rice. Washington threatened with Harris on base, but failed to score. two hits, one error, two left. Second inning saw no runs. Gowdy singled for New York, but Harris retired the side in order for Washington. Third and fourth innings produced no scoring. Frisch doubled again but stayed at third, none across. In the fifth, Peck singled and Harris followed with a run producing single, McNeely stole second, and both scored on Harris’ hit to right. Two runs, two hits, one left.
