Guests Tuesday at dinner of Mrs. A. C. Warner were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Short and daughter of Elberta Beach. Kathryn McMillan returned to Lorain after visiting Mrs. Frankie Reese. Mrs. J. G. Morris attended a shower for Miss Josephine Bailey at Elyria. Supper at Mr. and Mrs. John Morris marked birthdays of Mr. and Mrs. Sweet and Mrs. Morris. The Needlecraft Guild district meeting was at the YSWC with A. Monday in charge. H. H. Kangas spent weekend at home. Clyde Fridenstine visited Alexandria, Va. Gilbert Smith and relatives visited Geauga Lake area. Beese and Beese remained at Geauga Lake. Donald Fridenstine and family from Alexandria, Va., spent the weekend with Mrs. Gilbert Smith. Other guests included Joe Papenbrock and family. Sunday celebrated birthday anniversaries of Mrs. Laura Papenbrock, Mr. Fridenstine and Marie Papenbrock.

Fur thieves steal $15,000 in furs from local store

Police say professional fur thieves cut the Chronicle-Telegram’s front door lock to evade a burglar alarm and moved $15,000 worth of furs to a waiting truck. The store had been robbed of $5,000 in furs two decades earlier.
