Mission Circles of Lorain Deanery Meet

Approximately 200 members of the Mission Circles of the Lorain Deanery, N. C. C. W., gathered in St. Mary’s hall where Fr. Charles McBride praised their home and foreign mission work. An exhibit of handmade religious items was on display, with prizes awarded and special guests from Cleveland and Lorain. Activities included showers for honorees, social events, and plans for zone conferences and future gatherings.

Women of Elyria Churches Open Year With Fine Meetings

The Women's Association of the First Congregational church drew record attendance for an evening program headlined by Esther Mullin of a Cleveland radio station. She discussed radio's impact on women and children and urged letters supporting good shows and constructive programming.

Ninety Two Attend Annual Luncheon Of Welcome Wagon Newcomers Club

The Welcome Wagon Newcomers Club held its annual luncheon at Spring Valley country club with 92 members and guests. Tables displayed chrysanthemums fall leaves and red apple prizes. Members performed entertainment pieces in costume and dialect. Bridge pinochle and triple prizes were awarded to numerous members, with a reception committee and hostess roster listed.

YWCA Play Day Starts Saturday at 9 30 A M Elyria

The YWCA in Elyria opens its Fall Play Day series this Saturday at 9 30 with girls in third through sixth grades gathering for play, singing, games, movies, and crafts in the YWCA gym. Volunteers and high school girls run activities with 15 cents for milk and lunch. Future dates listed include October 9 23 November 6 20 and December 4.
