Forecast calls for showers tonight over the Lakes area and southern Florida with clear to partly cloudy skies elsewhere. Dense moisture may bring brief downpours and localized thunder in southern regions. Light winds and mild temperatures accompany the unsettled conditions.
A small craft advisory is in effect from west to northwest winds 20 to 30 knots. In the western half this evening and into tonight the risk extends late afternoon. East tonight showers are possible. Waves will build to 5 to 8 feet across the lake tonight.
Forecast covers Monday to Wednesday with showers possible Tuesday night and Wednesday. Lows range from mid to upper 30s, rising to upper 40s by Wednesday. Highs start in the low 60s Monday then reach the lower 70s on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Gusty showers drenched the Northeast with winds to 45 mph from northern Pennsylvania to Maine. Western New York saw over 2 inches of rain Friday while Burlington and Montpelier recorded about an inch. Light rain touched parts of the Great Lakes and Great Plains. A Canadian cold front pushed temperatures into the 30s from the Dakotas to the eastern Great Lakes as skies cleared in the Southeast.
