Biologist convicted in cancer poisoning killings in Nebraska
In Omaha, biologist Steven Roy Harper, 26, was found guilty of two counts of first degree murder and three related charges for poisoning five members of his former girlfriend’s family with dimethyl mitrosamine, a rocket fuel additive. The victims included a husband and an infant who bled to death. Harper’s motive cited jealousy as his former lover had married the victim. A death penalty or life sentence hearing is set for October 26.
