Cleveland coach Sam Rutigliano said four turnovers, three leading to Seattle scores, plus 10 penalties for 75 yards sank the Browns in a 24-9 defeat. Quarterback Brian Sipe threw three second-half picks and faced a fumble review he says should have been a forward pass. The Browns, now 3-2, prepare for the Jets with Sipe still top in the AFC in passing before the game.

Ohio State Faces Purdue Test With Weak Passing Defense

Ohio State coach Earle Bruce admits a weak pass defense as Purdue QB Scott Campbell leads a test for the 3-1 Buckeyes. Campbell has 530 yards passing with three TDs on four games, while OSU’s secondary has yielded 210 yards and a TD to Greg Murphy and 73 and 20 yard TDs to Moritz and Carroll in recent weeks. Bruce also notes concerns about the kicking game and says Purdue shows fine offensive talent but a young defense.
