Elyria civic leader Katharine Garford Thomas dies at 82

Katharine Garford Thomas, 82, noted Elyria civic leader and author, died at Elyria Home after a six week illness. She was the first president and founder of the Elyria YWCA, and a past president of the Lorain County Historical Society. She wrote Auntie Kate and supported First Congregational Church and the Musical Art Society. Her home was at 122 Columbus St.
