In Tehachapi Calif bodies of more than twenty victims are feared dead after a cloudburst turned the canyon into torrents. Seven bodies are in Bakersfield mortuaries with four others dead and ten missing. Debris and mud swept trains and bridges, with two million dollars in property damage and heavy railroad disruption. Rescue teams search while repairs forecast up to three weeks to restore service.

Suffer Injuries In Auto Accident In Lakewood
Mrs. Leon Moshier aged 40 from Lakewood suffered a dislocated right shoulder and minor injuries when the rear wheel of the car she rode in detached and the vehicle overturned on Butternut Ridge Road near Indian Hollow Road around 10 AM. Her husband, 43, had facial lacerations. The car was driven by 19 year old Malcomb Moshier, a Denison College student, with passenger William Kemper, also a student. neither was hurt.

The trial of Frank Lenahan former Lorain police officer was set for November 10 by Trial Judge A R Webber. Toledo Gangster Linked Double Fatal Crash Near Amherst
Two Toledo men died when their stolen car wrecked at high speed and crashed into a cherry tree west of South Amherst. A hitchhiker, Don Frederick, 23, escaped with minor injuries after entering the car at Bellevue.
