Lorain County Community Action Agency holds a 7 p.m. public hearing at Wellington Village Hall to gather input on how to spend federal Community Service Block Grant funds for southern Lorain County residents. In Elyria, three juveniles from Sheffield Lake and nearby Sheffield faced charges after a Sept. 5 blaze at Abbe Road Lumber Co. storage building caused $500,000 in damage. A 12-year-old and a 14-year-old were charged with aggravated arson and vandalism. another 14-year-old faced failing to report a crime and obstructing official business. The youths admitted setting the fire and await hearings and pretrial dates.
Lorain Public Library System North Ridgeville branch begins a preschool program for ages 3 to 5, running Tuesdays and Thursdays through December 8 with stories finger plays and songs. Sessions available at 10:30 am 1 pm and 7 pm with call-in information.
