Plas brother killed in Elyria Asphalt accident

Thomas Plas 53 of Elyria was fatally injured at Elyria Asphalt Co 10620 Middle Ave when tangled in a non rotating shaft while oiling a chain. His brother John helped shut down the three tier machine as rescue crews used Jaws of Life. Thomas died after over an hour of freeing him. He left a large Elyria family, member of St Mary Church, funeral arrangements pending.
