Elderly Caretaker Dies After Hit-Run Incident
Edward Cunningham, 70, caretaker at the Burrell residence on Broadway near Stop 48, died at St. Joseph's hospital at 9 10 a m today from injuries after being struck by a hit-skip motorist at 3 a m yesterday. Deputies and Lorain police sought the motorist without success. Roscoe Pape of North Ridgeville drove the motorist to the hospital. Other weekend accidents included a wagon car collision and a train striking a stalled auto on the Clay street crossing, causing significant property damage.
