Fire destroys Sperry Road home of Syfert family

A Saturday morning blaze on Sperry road west of Brownhelm Township destroyed the four room frame dwelling of the Albert Syfert family and all belongings. The family escaped with only the clothes they wore. loss estimated around 6000 dollars. Family members and neighbors organized a help effort with Red Cross and Chronicle Telegram assistance looming as cash donations.

Car Turns Over At Crossing Injures Two Men

Two Chicago men, Kenneth Boudon and Robert Waller, were bruised when their car overturned at a railroad crossing west of Wellington on Route 18 at 12:15 Sunday morning. William Reynolds of Grobe's fruit farm on Route 113 was taken to Elyria Memorial Hospital at 6:20 PM today after a freak accident.
