Three Hurt in Two Local Traffic Accidents
Three persons sustained minor injuries in two skidding accidents investigated by the sheriff’s department. Frances Tomkiewicz, 28, Lorain, was thrown from a car on Gulf road near Burns road at 7 a.m. while riding with Mary Snyder. In a second collision on Grafton road near Route 82 at 8 a.m. Guy Emerson, 41, Grafton, and Ruth Hostetler, 22, LaGrange, were hurt. Hostetler received a head laceration and Emerson chest injuries.

Speeding Train Smashes Cinder Truck Near Webster Crossing
Three county highway workers narrowly escaped death when a Big Four passenger train wrecked their cinder truck at the Webster road crossing between LaGrange and Wellington at 9 15 a m. driver William Schwartz 55 of Wellington was hospitalized for bruises and possible internal injuries while Harvey Swert 67 of Elyria and Ellsworth Bay 66 of Wellington jumped clear. Parts of the spreader littered the road for 300 feet and snow limited the view of the oncoming train.
