An Elyria couple faced a fire blamed on careless smoking that caused about 3500 in damage to a rented home at 129 Cascade St. The blaze started in a chair in the southwest corner, spread to a wall, and Terry Edmonds suffered a first degree burn while moving the chair outside. Police in Madison Township investigate a Saturday night party where a 25 year old woman was found with facial cuts and bruises after escaping a basement. Detectives questioned James Clinton Reames 26 who surrendered after 30 hours. Two others, David A. Chifton 24 and David R. Thomas 19, were arrested for obstructing justice.
Olde Towne Hall Theatre presents Scrooge a Dickens adaptation running Thursday to Saturday at 8pm through Dec 17. The show moves from present day sketches to 19th century London with Tim Jones transforming into Ebenezer Scrooge.
