Lottery overhaul bill sent to Ohio House subcommittee
Senate approved legislation to restructure the Ohio lottery moves to a House State Government subcommittee. Sponsor Sen. John K Mahoney and director Edwin C. Taylor testified as Rep. Thomas J. Carney named a panel with Francine Panehal chairing. Oxley and Cook join, with Oxley an opponent and Cook skeptical. The bill would empower the executive director, add four commissioners, and shift review and promotion oversight to a broader board. Taylor described previous powerlessness, noting a desk move dispute and limited director authority.
