Coal production cut in half during first week of strike

Washington report shows soft coal output in the United States nearly halved in the first week of the strike. EAST LIVERPOOL Manly confiscated from eight slot machines in a raid last December 14. The $231.60 seized will go to the municipal treasury or police pension fund after the State Supreme Court refused a review of a Seventh District appellate court ruling. Former Cincinnati Mayor Russell W. Wilson Dies

Funeral services for Russell W. Wilson councilman and former mayor of Cincinnati will be held at his home Saturday. Wilson, 70, died Wednesday at Christ Hospital after a lengthy illness. He served as mayor four times and held city leadership roles.

Thanksgiving Day Celebration at The Elyria Home for the Aged

Residents of the Elyria Home for the Aged enjoyed a noon dinner featuring roast turkey and traditional sides. The Ladies Auxiliary contributed to expenses, Junior Department children and local church groups provided decorations and favors, and guests included Lorain and Cleveland visitors. The cook and assistant celebrated Thanksgiving Day as their birthday in a marked coincidence.

Growth Of Good News Clubs Reported At Rally

Reports at the Child Evangelism Rally highlighted growth in Good News clubs over the past year with 22 classes hosting 281 children in the first week of this month, up from 184 in 16 classes last year. Boy Found Under Influence Of Liquor

A 15 year old boy, picked up at 11:45 p m Wednesday for breaking windows at the Jenne garage on Foster Avenue, was found under the influence of liquor. Police turned him over to county juvenile authorities. He said an unknown party gave him drinks. Officers noted he carried a rubber hose piece filled with steel shingings wrapped with tape for protection.
