McNuggets under fire over fat and mislead ads
The CSPI petitions the FTC to halt advertising for McDonald's Chicken McNuggets claiming only breast and thigh meat are used. Consumers would learn the product contains chicken skin and additives fried in saturated shortening, with a 30 percent higher fat content than a burger. Also includes a home oven fried nugget recipe and notes on kosher pickles and Israeli dairy products.
