Israel frees six soldiers in swap with 4600 captives
TEL AVIV reports Israel agreed to a prisoner exchange with the PLO after more than a year of talks. Six Israeli soldiers were released after 15 months in captivity, while about 3,500 Palestinians and Lebanese were freed or given options to stay with families. Israeli officials say no direct contact with the PLO occurred and warn the exchange does not soften overall hostilities.
