Elyria police officer Todd Zack, 29, received a seven to 25 year prison term after being found guilty of 10 counts of sexual abuse and bribery. He maintained innocence and urged mercy to avoid long separation from his wife and two sons. The judge declined to impose consecutive sentences.
Sherri Yost and Brett Scott, both 32, were sentenced to a year in prison after pleading no contest to five felony counts of child endangering in Common Pleas Court. Yost had hoped to regain custody of her four surviving children and described the decision as a “dirty shame.”
Cleveland AP Roberto Alomar agreed Monday to a four year contract worth 30 to 32 million to join his brother Sandy on the AL Central champion Indians. The deal was completed and a Tuesday news conference at Jacobs Field was planned.

In Lorain Ohio the ACLU warned Hawthorne Elementary officials they will press rights case over 11 year old Richard Feliciano wearing a Born to Raze Hell T shirt at school. Officials say shirt distracts. Richard and father Pablo defend it as a Christian message and place name. The ACLU letter signals potential legal action if policy persists.
