Missing Navy pilot Lt Paul Nielson Presumed Lost At Sea

Lt Paul Nielson, husband of former Thelma Dumke, reported missing off Cheju Korea after a Navy patrol bomber crash on November 10 or 11. Debris and two pontoons found. no survivors known. Nielson, a recalled WWII WAVE and current Navy pilot, was to be released December 15. His wife and in laws travel to Alameda to be with family.

Avon Boy Hurt In Hunting Mishap

A 14 year old Avon boy Eugene Edwards was wounded in the calf by a gunshot during a hunting trip near his home. He was taken to St Josephs Hospital Lorain in fair condition. Highway Meeting To Discuss County Program Here

Santa to Visit Elyria for Letters Saturday Night

Santa Claus will visit Elyria Saturday night at 7 30 p m in front of the Lorain County Courthouse to receive letters from children. A red drop box will collect notes, with 50 letters copied for Chronicle Telegram and another set for WEOL radio. Stores stay open until 9 p m as promotions mark the season opening. Turnpike Fight Moves To Courts Over Elyria Sites

The Ohio Turnpike Commission sued Elyria in two Common Pleas Court actions to condemn parcels on both river banks for a bridge site and filed a mandamus suit in the Ohio Supreme Court to compel city disclosure of street sewer and water line relocations. The cases name the city alongside local trustees in one suit and the city alone in the other. A $5,940 and $4,620 offer was reported for the parcels. Special counsel Robert Shoup said the city will decide its next step and may seek injunctions to block land taking and challenge the turnpike act’s authority.

Albrecht Named New Assistant On C of C Staff

Big Rock Cut Near Akron On Turnpike Route
