Thanksgiving community dinners at Locc and St Mary Church
LaGrange United Methodist Church will host a free Thanksgiving meal from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 105 W. Main St. St. Mary Church in Elyria offers another free meal at 250 Third St. Parish Hall noon to 3 p.m. Volunteers and Jerry Schill run the events, with last year serving about 250 people and 187 pounds of turkey. Wellington High School reprinted its 2016 17 yearbook after nearly 20 percent of students were left out. Of 375 students, 74 ninth to eleventh graders from Lorain County JVS were omitted because JVS photos on a separate CD were not received by publisher Jostens.

The 2017 Not-Forgotten Box drive is underway with dropoffs 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at The Chronicle lobby 225 East Ave Elyria. A special Saturday dropoff is set for Dec 9 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The drive ends Dec 15 and the office is closed today for Thanksgiving.
