After 30 years as chief executive A Malachi Mixon III steps down at year end but remains chairman. Gerald B Blouch becomes president and CEO effective January 1 succeeding Mixon who will focus on growth through government relations and new products. Mixon weathered a mild stroke in April and sees a bright future for the wheelchairs and home health care leader.

Police nab three youths in sting at pizza delivery call
Elyria officers disguised as pizza delivery staff trapped three juveniles suspected of planning a robbery. The call came from Marco's Pizza on West Ridge Road about a late order to 348 West River Road N, a dark vacant house. Police formed a perimeter using Google Maps while an employee checked the delay.
