Giant Three Way Plug returns to light in Oberlin
Allen Art Museum workers reintegrated Oldenburg’s 10 foot by 6 foot steel Giant Three Way Plug after a rust buildup and years underground. A front end loader helped move the 3,500 pound piece on the museum lawn. The piece, designed in 1970 and built by Lippincott, was treated with sandblasting rust retardant and drainage adjustments to prevent future corrosion.
