Area Deaths Highlight Lorain Hispanic Pioneer
Luis Longoria 77, 1981 Hispanic Man of the Year, died at Good Samaritan Nursing Home Avon after a long illness. He helped found Lorain Hispaniuc Custonuiary in the 1920s and 30s, owned Longoria Delicatessen from 1948 to 1972, and ran Luis's Pool Hall. A 60-year Lorain resident born in Portand Texas, he worked 45 years as a plugger in U.S. Steel and belonged to Mexican Mutual Club and St. John's Church. He is survived by his wife Johanna and several children.

Elyna Hers, aged 3.40, survived by his wife Sarah, a daughter Rosaline, five brothers and two sisters. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 pm Friday at Brown Funeral Home. Funeral services at 11 am Saturday at the Original Church of God. Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery Flys.
