Milford Vanik, 25, Cleveland balloonist, was found alive and injured after 80 hours missing. He landed near Yean Lakes east of Toronto, Canada, suffering a badly wrenched shoulder and leg. He is en route to Sault Ste. Marie and will return home within two days. his mother, Jennie Vanik of East Cleveland, relayed the telegram from Great Lakes Aircraft Corp.

New church to be dedicated December 17 in Princeton Garford area
Emmanuel Lutheran church at Princeton and Garford avenues will be dedicated on Sunday December 17. Speakers include Rev. Reprisals feared in Tom Ciccero killing near Oberlin
Investigations by Sheriff Clarence Adams and Coroner Thomas Peebles focus on a heavy blunt force death of 36 year old Tom Ciccero found between here and Oberlin around 1 a m. A 32 caliber Spanish revolver with four discharged cartridges was recovered near the body and identified by Ciccero’s employer Bert Sylvestro of Cleveland. Authorities suspect a gang reprisal linked to bootleggers and racketeers. Ciccero recently secured release from a penitentiary term for auto stealing. He was last seen when hired to work on a Kipton farm and to help operate a gas station Sylvestro plans to construct. A pint of whiskey and a strand of wire were found on him. scratches on the gun suggest it was dropped or thrown. The case awaits further details.
