Elyria Telephone Company seeks rate increase in Ohio

The Elyria Telephone Company filed with the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio on October 15 1982 an application for authority to raise and adjust rates and charges for its Columbia Station and Elyria exchanges. The filing includes proposed tariff changes and regulations, with details available at the commission office or the company's Elyria public office. Objections may be filed under section 4909.19 of the Ohio Revised Code. The application argues existing rates are inadequate to cover costs and deliver a just return, aiming to fund maintenance expansion and service quality. The proposal adds an optional customer visit removal service and emergency message relay for non published numbers, and eliminates trunk rate differentials between key system and PBX trunks. If approved, residential and business customers would face specified percentage increases.
