Water bill truce reached between Elyria and Amherst
In an 11th hour settlement Elyria and Amherst agreed on a 717000 water bill dating back to 1981. Amherst pays 150000 within 10 days after already contributing 450000 with 50000 monthly payments. The deal lowers Amherst surcharges and keeps Amherst’s base rate through 1983 with water-sales rights north of the turnpike.
