Elyrian names Wakeman chief in Huron County village

Fire destroys LaGrange home injuring Blanton family
LaGrange fire chief Vernon Rundle said a stove may have caused the blaze that severely damaged the Blanton home. The family, at Elyria shopping for medicine, returned to find fumes and a shell of a house after the fire burned for about an hour. Red Cross assistance was sought for the family.

Arrests Predicted in Fazio Supermarket Robbery
Lorain Police Chief John Malinovsky predicted two Lorain men will be arrested for the Fisher Fazio supermarket robbery at Oakwood Shopping Plaza. A third suspect, Jesse Jones, 19, was mortally wounded by a police pistol shot as he fled. About $18 800 was taken, with most recovered from two pillowcases.

North Ridgeville man killed crossing road in Cleveland
A 36 year old North Ridgeville resident, Zwack of 5767 Deborah Drive, was struck by a car while crossing Broad Road at West 165th Street and died at Fairview General Hospital at 3 AM. He was walking to a telephone after his disabled car, born August 30 1932 in Germany, came to the U S in 1954. He worked as a tailor for Lyons Tailor Co. Surviving are his wife Mary Ann a daughter Karen his mother a brother and a sister all in Germany. Funeral home viewing scheduled.
