Death of Mrs Jennie Ryals Elyria leader and church worker

Jennie Corning Ryals 69 died November 12 1932 at her Elyria home after a weeks illness. Oldest daughter of Hobart E Corning she taught in Grafton Lorain and Elyria schools before marriage to James M Ryals August 19 1891. Survived by husband son Corning D Ryals and grandson William Ryals, plus siblings and several relatives. Active in First Methodist Episcopal church Elyria Woman's Foreign Missionary Society Ladies Aid Sunday School Primary, Home for the Aged board member and club woman. Burial plans not listed in this fragment.

Lenahan murder trial jury pool narrows in Lorain

Four tentative jurors in the Frank Lenahan murder trial were excused by both sides this morning. Eleven jurors are seated with more potential excusals possible as the panel prepares for final selection. Lenahan, a former Lorain police officer, faces trial for the fatal shooting of his wife at their Long avenue home last August.

Typhoon hits Tokio floods homes and devastates area

A typhoon swept over Tokio causing widespread damage with about 30,000 homes inundated or damaged. The village of Kashiwabara, 24 miles from Shizuoka, was destroyed by fire spreading from the gale with about 800 houses burned. The storm began Monday evening and disrupted transport, leaving Tokio in darkness as wires were torn down. Separately, Akron and Columbus fund drives launch drives for Community Chest, targeting $640,000 for 7,000 families and $897,147 respectively.

Two new congresswomen will join the House in March: Mrs. Virginia Jenckes of Indiana and Miss Kath ry O'Loughlin of Kansas. Britain and France seek U S war debt revision

Britain and France demanded fundamental revision of their 8 billion dollar war debt and asked delay of December payments totaling about 124 million. Four people injured when a car left Case road near Cleveland road and struck a tree at about 12:30 A M.
