Blizzard roars through upper Midwest with record early-season storm
The blizzard dumped up to 10 inches of snow across Minnesota and parts of Iowa and Wisconsin, stranding motorists, closing stores and schools. Two deaths were reported in Minnesota as wind gusts reached 65 mph and six-foot drifts formed. Authorities evacuated and opened shelters while the National Weather Service warned of ongoing severe conditions.
