Londonderry girl tarred and feathered in Bogside attack
In Londonderry’s Bogside, three masked women tarred and feathered 19 year old Martha Doherty after dragging her from her home and shaving her head. Witnesses said the assault followed another similar incident two days earlier while British troops conducted a large Ardoyne search. A soldier, Lance Col. Ian Curtis, 23, was killed nearby by a sniper as the day unfolded.
