Ohio lawmakers deadlock on income tax as sales tax move seen

A House Senate conference committee planned to start on a state sales tax bill to fund the biennium after the personal income tax approach stalled. House Speaker Kurfess and Senate Leader Gray reached a deal to bring the sales tax bill to the House floor, mirroring Senate passage.

Wintry blast to bring snow tonight in Elyria area

The National Weather Service says a wintry blast will hit the Elyria area late today with blustery winds and possible snow. Temperatures will drop from near 50 this afternoon to upper 20s or low 30s tonight and remain near freezing tomorrow as a winter storm moves northeast from Minnesota.

Robbery film allowed as evidence in four trial set

Lorain County Common Pleas Judge Paul J. Mikus ruled that movies of a theft may be used during the trials of four Cleveland defendants. A three minute hidden camera film from Lawson store at 4169 E Lake Rd Sheffield Lake shows the August 31 holdup. Farley will be first tried next Monday with objections to the film overruled but retrial rights reserved.
