Spencer boy to begin rabies shots after dog bite
An 11 year old Spencer boy will start a 14 day course of rabies shots today after being bitten on the head shoulder and hand by an unidentified dog late Tuesday in a field behind the Archer home. Police say the dog was a medium sized black dog with a white chest possibly Costa Rican in origin. A search by Spencer volunteers police and family failed to locate the animal though the dog was seen with a choker or dragging chain. The family doctor recommended immediate treatment due to bite location on the head.
