Tylenol case APB widens as Chicago man eyed for crimes
An APB was issued for Kevin J. Masterson 35 Lombard after a Chicago Tribune report tied him to the Tylenol poisonings case. The affidavit cites his grudge against Jewel Food Stores and Frank's Finer Foods over alleged mistreatment, with authorities noting tenuous links and no charges yet filed. The search yielded items including Tylenol capsules and poison bottles. The affidavit also notes a psychiatrist found Masterson to have a personality disorder and violence risk.

Italians offer to buy US planes to lift sanctions
Italian Prime Minister Giovanni Spadolini said Italy would purchase about a billion dollars worth of American aircraft if the United States relaxes sanctions on European supplies to the Soviet pipeline. An administration official said sanctions could be revised if allies limit subsidized credits to the Soviets. Spadolini, after talks with President Reagan, said a solution is near and that sanctions could be lifted in a few days.
