Browns win 25 24 after forcing two turnovers in a tight game. Brian Hoyer threw for 300 yards and two touchdowns while rookie Taylor Gabriel set a career high with five receptions for 84 yards and a TD. Mike Glennon struggled for Tampa Bay as running game stalled.
Mike Pettine inspired the team aiming for 5-3 for the first time since 2007. Jim O Neil was burned on blitzes twice including a touchdown but adjusted the run game. Chris Tabor delivered a strong first half through special teams. Tampa Bay’s staff faced sharp criticism for not calling a run after a second-and-1 at the Cleveland 37 with two minutes left.
Browns quarterback Brian Hoyer overcame boos and a tough defensive game to throw 21 of 34 for 300 yards and two touchdowns. Rookie Taylor Gabriel sealed the win with a 34 yard TD in the fourth quarter as Cleveland moved to 8-3 in the season.

Glennon passes for 260 yards but completes 17 of 33 with two interceptions that negate two Evans long gains. Browns capitalize on a 10 point swing via a Haden tip and Gipson interception as Tampa Bay fails to convert late drives and coach Smith ruefully notes missed run calls.
Free safety Tashaun Gipson says the Browns are taken seriously after a 50 yard rushing effort on 28 carries at 1.8 yards per rush, an improvement from 1.6 last week. Scott Petrak notes Cleveland’s rising NFL image and five wins this early.
