Elyria groups announce events including band banquet and coat drive
The Elyria High School Pioneer Marching Band Banquet is set for 6 p.m. Thursday in the school dining hall with $14 for attendees and no charge for seniors. Project Dawn will host a Narcan clinic November 13 at Elyria City Health District with no appointment needed. The Women’s Association of the Lorain County Historical Society sells wreaths for 30 dollars and mailing boxes for three. The third annual Coats for Elyria Kids Drive runs November 9 and 10. A community forum on drug addiction is planned for 6 p.m. at Elyria High School with local experts. Open ice skating sessions are offered at North Park Ice Arena with varying fees. The Salvation Army offers a Christmas Assistance Program makeup day. The NAACP Elyria Branch holds officer elections November 10 and a general meeting the same evening. monthly meetings are at Elyria City Hall.

Employees at University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center shaved their heads in the Bald for Bucks event to support United Way of Greater Lorain County. Three men Luke Chandler Tom LaMotte and Brad Calabrese raised over 1100 dollars for the United Way through the fundraiser.
