Houdini Seance in His Honor Falters in Appleton
William Monroe led a 45 minute Halloween night seance at Houdini's boyhood home town hoping to contact the departed magician on the 60th anniversary of his death. Twelve attendees including Marie H Blood and Houdini buffs witnessed trance like speech and a failed answer about Houdini's favorite dessert. Blood expressed disappointment saying bread pudding custard with fresh cherries was his favorite. Sidney Radner said the failed seance underscores Houdini's drive to expose mediums. Blood said she was convinced nothing occurred. Monroe said no memory of the trance and that five to seven years of effort may be needed to reach Houdini.
