Seven inmates escape from Lorain County Jail again

Amherst police captured escapee Ray mond Spikes on Milan Avenue after a tip from railroad crewmen. Three inmates were still at large, while seven prisoners battered a wall and pried a window in a daylight breakout at the new jail, the second escape in six weeks. Alvin Taylor and Ronald Welch were among the six who had previously escaped. Taylor was captured.
