Lorain County officials released no new information on a computer network security event that shut down several county court divisions and probation services. It remained unclear whether a criminal probe exists, what caused the breach, and when systems will be restored as administrators and commissioners declined to comment.
A sign on Court Street in Elyria announced the Lorain County Domestic Relations Juvenile Court and General Division would be closed Friday. A similar notice appeared on the Lorain County Adult Probation office in the Old Courthouse.
