New rights bill would aid women in sex bias cases
Knight-Ridder reports a new civil rights bill would grant women the same sue-for-damages rights in job discrimination as minorities. It avoids quotas language, could enhance or hamper House support, and aims to reverse 1999 Supreme Court rulings while capping damages at 150000 or compensatory amounts, whichever is greater.
