New London Moves 5th and 6th Graders to Fitchville
The New London School District will relocate fifth and sixth graders to the Fitchville building for the 1984 85 year, expanding enrollment to 165 with three classes in each grade. Grades 2 and 3 plus a developmentally handicapped class move to the New London Elementary building. Plans include a 56 by 8 foot computer center and a 15 by 21 foot library, costing about $7,000, funded by permanent improvement taxes approved in May. Transportation concerns arose regarding bus rides, but district officials said the change will improve education and facilities for computer training and outdoor education.
