Former deputy charged with rape and kidnapping
A retired Lorain County sheriff's deputy, Charles Crausar 52 of Columbia Township, was booked May 12 on felony rape and kidnapping charges plus domestic violence and weapons offenses. Held on a 550000 bond, the case advanced to a Lorain County grand jury while prosecutors seek forensic and digital evidence. Crausar previously returned to duty after a 2011 line of duty shooting.
