Ibuprofen Set to Roil OTC Pain Relief Market
The first new over the counter pain reliever in 29 years, ibuprofen, will hit stores this week under Advil and Nuprin. It blends anti pain and anti fever action with stomach gentleness, challenging Tylenol and other brands. Firms forecast a surge in nonprescription analgesic sales and await regulatory impacts on existing products.

Existing home sales rise to highest pace in almost four years
Washington AP reports that in April existing single family home resales climbed 17 percent to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 3.07 million units, the second straight month above 3 million and the highest since October 1980, with the National Association of Realtors noting the pace 63.3 percent above the August 1982 recession low. Chief economist Jack Carlson cautioned that higher mortgage rates could curb further increases this year.
